Moncloa

Moncloa

Moncloa is perfect if you want the student lifestyle!

Moving north from Plaza De Espana, you will find Calle de la Princesa, a street that will take you to Argelles and then on to Moncloa. The first of these two districts has new and elegant buildings, usually four or stories high. Streets criss-cross in a rectangular fashion and parking is not difficult, as there are good underground car parks, which are quite common in Madrid. To the west of Argelles you will find the Parque Del Oueste, one of the few green areas in the Spanish capital. For shopping or any other necessities, you will find everything you need in Calle Princesa. At the end of this road you fill find Moncloa, home to the Ciudad Universitaria, a huge university campus with all the faculty buildings and well-kept sports facilities. Arguelles has most of the things you would want from a neighborhood – shopping, eateries, and interesting architecture. It’s also fairly close to the center of Madrid, and well-connected by buses as well as the metro. One of the great things about Arguelles is that although it’s not a very touristy part of the city, it’s very international and young. Because of its proximity to a university, a lot of students choose to live around here. If you prefer living in a more laid back neighborhood, you should try finding a residence at Moncloa. For one, various modes of public transportation like the metro and buses are fairly accessible. Second, there are numerous restaurants offering good but affordable food choices.

Moncloa is good if you:

  • want to be in a more livable area.
  • are a student.
  • want an international feel, without forgetting that you’re in Spain.
  • like to pay affordable prices for food.
